Presentation guidelines

To prepare your presentation for a paper or research develop session please follow the guidelines below.

Paper sessions

In paper sessions each paper has a time slot of 20 minutes. In order to leave enough time for discussion we ask you to restrict your presentation to 12 minutes. Please also prepare one additional slide to follow your presentation entitled “What I would like to discuss” with one or two questions or aspects on which you would like to have feedback from the conference participants (not part of the 12 minutes).

Research development sessions

In research development sessions each paper has a time slot of 20 minutes. Each paper will also be commented by the senior scholar who chairs the session followed by a discussion with the audience. Please prepare a presentation of maximum 10 minutes. In order to guide and structure the discussion please prepare your presentation along the following headlines:

  • Introduction
  • Research question and intended contribution
  • Theory background
  • Methodology
  • Preliminary results
  • Next steps
  • Open questions

In all sessions there will be a video projector and a laptop computer. You only have to prepare your presentation as a PowerPoint file on a USB stick. Please also send your PowerPoint file (*.ppt or *.pptx) to us at info@gronen2012.org by Friday 22 June 2012 the latest. If you have any special technical requirements, please contact us in advance.
